Winston-Salem - The top seeded North Carolina Tar Heels made the short drive over to Winston-Salem for their first practice before they get set to take on Eastern Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday night. No number 1 seed as ever lost to a 16 seed in the Big Dance.
The Tar Heels seem to get off to good starts when they play their first round games in Winston-Salem. UNC beat East Carolina then Rhode Island in Winston-Salem on their way to a title in 1993. The Heels also opened the 1997 tournament in Winston-Salem before bowing out in the Final Four that year.
