The Lady Pirates Win C-USA Tournament

Tulsa, OK - East Carolina will finally be able to hang a C-USA Championship banner at Minges Coliseum after the Lady Pirates completed an improbable run through the conference tournament in Tulsa to knotch the school's first ever tournament title. ECU beat Rice 79-70 in Sunday's championship game to extend their season long win streak to 10 games.
Jasmine Young scored 21 points and hit several key baskets during a 15-2 second half run after trailing by as many as 12.
It is the first time in 25 years that the ECU women have earned a trip the NCAA Women's Tournament. ECU lost to South Carolina in the Eastern Regionals back in 1982.
The team will return to Greenville on Monday and are set to arrive at Minges Coliseum around 1pm.
