INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The Indiana Pacers have picked North
Carolina forward Tyler Hansbrough with the 13th pick in the NBA
draft.
Hansbrough led North Carolina to the NCAA title this past
season, and The Associated Press named him its national player of
the year in 2008. The Atlantic Coast Conference's all-time leading scorer
on Thursday became part of Indiana's rebuilding effort.
Hansbrough worked out for the Pacers in Indianapolis this month.
Team president Larry Bird raved about Hansbrough this week, saying
that people had picked on him, but "all he's ever done is won."
The Minnesota Timberwolves took North Carolina point guard Ty Lawson with the 18th pick then traded him to Denver minutes later.
The Timberwolves selected Tar Heel shooting guard Wayne Ellington with the 28th overall pick of the first round.
UNC forward Danny Green was selected in the 2nd round with the 46th overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Take 'em all, I don't care! Then we won't have to hear so much lip from the Tar Hole fans next year during the season.
Hansbrough is a wasted pick.
3 Tarheels in the first round is awesome! I bet there won't be a single Pirate drafted at all.
