With just two games remaining in the first half of the season the K-Tribe is assured of having the worst record in a half ever as a Cleveland Indians affiliate (1987-present). The previous low mark was a 28-41 record in the second half of the 1994 season.
As a CL franchise Kinston (46 complete years) has had less then 25 wins in a half just three times, including Kinston’s worst half ever in the Carolina League in 1974 when the Kinston Expos went 19-49 in the first half.
Kinston’s only season as a Montreal affiliate the K-Expos (?) went 19-44 in the second half for a 38-93 record, only one team in Carolina League History had a worse record when the unaffiliated Rocky Mount Pines went 24-114 in 1980, going 14-55 in the first half and 10-59 in the second half.
Kinston will try to break their eight game losing streak Saturday night in Lynchburg at 6:05 pm. Eric Berger will take the hill for Kinston.
