NASCAR Qualifying

Brian Vickers took advantage of the
final qualifying attempt to grab the pole for the Dickies 500 at
Texas Motor Speedway. Vickers completed a string of late qualifying
bumps to knock Elliott Sadler off the pole with a track record
qualifying speed of 195-point-390 miles per hour.
Sadler hadn't even gotten out of his car after nudging Kurt
Busch from the pole when Vickers completed his run.
Kasey Kahne nailed down the fourth qualifying spot to top
the drivers that are in the Chase for the Championship. Chase
leader Matt Kenseth may have opened the door for the other nine
drivers still in the hunt for the title by qualifying 36th, slowest
of the contenders.
Kenseth goes into the race 26 points ahead of Jimmie Johnson who
qualified fifth.
