LCC Tops Rival PCC

Former South Lenoir star Quan Outlaw hit two free throws with 9.7 seconds left to give Lenoir Community College an 85-84 win over Pitt Community College Wednesday night in Kinston.

Curtis Hines led all scorers with 28 points for LCC; fellow Kinston alum Miguel Starkey had 21. Southwest Edgecombe product Eugene Jenkins had a team high 19 points for Pitt Community College.

It was a back and fourth first half as both teams had leads of six points. LCC (11-9, 8-4 Region X) took a two point lead at halftime. The Lancers worked the lead to 12 with fewer than ten minutes to go, but Pitt came back.

Pitt Community College (13-4, 10-4 Region X) is now tied with LCC in the loss column for second place in the Conference. Lenoir Community College will return to the court on Monday at home against Johnson Community College. Game time 7:30 pm.

They have always been rivals just in general. This could be stemming from their big baseball rival they have had for a really long time.
