Fans packed into Professor O'Cools Restaurant and bar in Greenville to watch the kick off at noon.
Many with their purple and gold shirts and paraphenalia, cheered on the pirates early on but were concerned about the Pirates rough start to the game.
While it seemed the Hokies were going to dominate the game, fans like Megan Craig-Hazelwood, were keeping their hopes alive.
"Keeping my finger cross but the fan base say 74 percent for
Virginia Tech. I'm hoping we can pull out an underdog victory, Go Pirates!" says Craig-Hazelwood
