Less than a week after the Olympic flame was extinguished, the torch was lit again in Beijing, but this time for the Paralympics.

The flame was lit in front of the symbolic hall of prayer for good harvest before it was passed to the President of the Beijing organizing committee and then Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

The torch will be carried by 850 torchbearers through 11 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. On September sixth, the paralympic games will open in Beijing.
