U.S. men's basketball is looking stronger by the
game. The Redeem Team easily won a quarterfinal game over Australia
116-85. Kobe Bryant led the U.S. in scoring with 25. LeBron James
added 16 points.
The United States will play defending champion Argentina on
Friday night for a spot in Sunday's gold medal game.
The upset-minded Aussies had their bubble burst when the
Americans went on a 14-0 run to open the second half.
The USA is just two wins away from a gold medal. They are
looking for their first gold in a major international competition
since the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
