GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- East Carolina is inducting five athletes
into its sports hall of fame.

The school announced Thursday that it will honor Bill Carson, Reggie Pinkney, Wallace "Butch" Davis, Brian Irvin and Hal Morrison.

Induction is scheduled for Oct. 17, the night before the Pirates play host to Memphis in football.

Carson coached track and field at East Carolina for 40 years before retiring prior to last season.

Pinkney was a defensive back in the 1970s who as a senior set the school record with 197 yards on interception returns. He's the father of current quarterback Patrick Pinkney.

East Carolina has inducted 125 athletes, coaches, administrators and donors since establishing the hall of fame in 1974.
