The U.S. women's soccer team was blanked in its
Olympic opener today, giving up two goals in the first four minutes
of a 2-0 loss to Norway.
The Americans failed to put any substantial pressure on the
Norwegians after giving up the early goals.
Norway handed the U.S. its only other Olympic loss in the 2000
gold-medal match.
Canada, China and North Korea won their Olympic soccer openers.
Germany and Brazil played to a scoreless deadlock and Japan tied
New Zealand 2-2.
