The K-Tribe scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning, coming back and beat Lynchburg 7-4 Saturday night in Virginia. Kinston trailed 4-2 in the top of the sixth inning, when Beau Mills and Jared Goedert led off the inning with walks. Nick Weglarz dove in Mills with an RBI single to make the score 4-3. Cirilo Cumberbatch delivered the big hit in the inning, a two RBI single driving home Goedert and Weglarz. Two batters later, Alex Castillo added his second RBI of the game with a single to make the score 6-4. Mills added the final run of the game with an RBI single in the top of the ninth. Eight of the nine K-Tribers in the lineup racked up at least one hit on the night.
The K-Tribe bullpen took it from there as Neil Wagner, Josh Tomlin and Luis Perdomo provided five innings of no run ball from the pen. The trio struck out eight and did not walk a batter. Wagner (1-2) picks up the win, Perdomo notches his fourth save of the season.
The K-Tribe takes on the Hillcats for the deciding game of the three game series Saturday night at 7:05pm. Hector Rondon gets the start for Kinston.
