Thigh Injury Could Force Jeter To Miss Fenway Fun

Derek Jeter's thigh injury could force the New York Yankees' shortstop to miss the entire weekend series against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Yanks general manager Brian Cashman wouldn't rule out placing the team captain on the disabled list with a strained left thigh. However, Cashman said he was looking toward Jeter returning Monday for the start of a two-game set at Tampa Bay.

Jeter has been sidelined since hurting his quadriceps Monday. He
was replaced by Alberto Gonzalez in the lineup Friday night for the
opener of the three-game series against Boston.
