Pirate Baseball Back In Top-25

After picking up its first Conference USA series win of the season at UCF, the East Carolina baseball team found itself back in the national collegiate baseball rankings Monday afternoon garnering a No. 24 ranking by Collegiate Baseball.

The Pirates (18-7, 3-3 C-USA) posted a 3-1 week which included wins over Campbell (11-3) and at then No. 19 UCF (10-2 and 10-1). On the week, ECU outscored its opponents 33-9, batted .365 and pounded out 54 hits, including a season-high 21 against UCF on March 29.

ECU is one of four C-USA schools represented in this week’s Collegiate Baseball poll sitting behind Southern Miss (No. 20) and Rice (No. 21) and just ahead of UCF (No. 25).

The Pirates will return to action this week when they play host to in-state rival N.C. State on Tuesday, April 1 with a 6 p.m. first pitch scheduled.
