Longtime K-Tribe public address announcer Jeff Diamond sparkled into the sunset this off-season, hanging up his microphone after 12 great years of service. Replacing a Diamond was not easy, but the Kinston Indians think they found another fine gem right in their own back yard.

East Carolina University Freshman and Lenoir County native Nathan Perry will take over as top man in the Grainger Stadium Press Box this season. Perry is a graduate of Kinston’s Arendell Parrott Academy. While at Parrott Academy, Perry was student body president and lettered in nine varsity sports. Perry is also a proud coach of a local middle school basketball team.
