UNC Holds No. 1 In AP poll

It's North Carolina sitting on top of The Associated Press college basketball poll.

Following last weekend's win over Duke, the Tar Heels received 52 first-place votes from the 72-member national media panel. It's North Carolina's second week in its second stint as the number-one team.

The Tar Heels were on top of the preseason Top 25 and the first 10 polls of the regular season.

The top five teams all held their spots from last week with Memphis at number-two followed by UCLA, Tennessee and Kansas.

Texas is sixth while Duke dropped one place to seventh. Wisconsin, Georgetown and Xavier round out the top 10.

The second 10 has Stanford 11th, followed by Butler, Louisville, Notre Dame, Connecticut, Drake, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Michigan State and Gonzaga.

Rounding out the Top 25 are Washington State, Indiana, Davidson, BYU and Marquette.
