Hurricanes Blow Past Thrashers

The Carolina Hurricanes are 4-1-and-1 in their last six games after Scott Walker had a goal and two assists in a 5-3 triumph over Atlanta.

Walker scored once in the third period before setting up Keith
Aucoin's goal that put the 'Canes ahead 5-2 with 11:25 left.

Ray Whitney, Ryan Bayda and Sergei Samsonov had second-period
goals as the Hurricanes stretched their Southeast Division lead to four points over Washington.

The Thrashers are five points behind Carolina following their second straight loss. Eric Perrin, Mark Recchi and Todd White provided Atlanta's goals.
