Mora To Succeed Holmgren In Seattle

Jim Mora will become the Seattle Seahawks head coach for the 2009 season. The former Atlanta Falcons head coach will succeed Mike Holmgren, who announced last week that next season would be his last with the team.

Mora coached the Falcons from 2004 until he was fired New Year's
Day 2007. He then signed on with Seattle as assistant head coach
and defensive backs coach. He'll retain those titles for one more
season.

The 59-year old Holmgren has a season left on his contract and
announced he would fulfill it last week, ending his 10 year run
with the team. He holds the team record for career coaching wins
with 170 and took the team to the Super Bowl in 2006.
