'Canes Snap Four Game Losing Streak

All-Star Eric Staal scored three goals and the Carolina Hurricanes routed the Edmonton Oilers 7-2 to snap their season-worst four-game losing streak. One of Staal's goals was on a penalty shot.

Rod Brind'Amour had a goal and two assists. Sergei Samsonov and
Chad LaRose both had a goal and an assist. Tim Gleason also scored
for Carolina, which broke it open with five third-period goals.

Andrew Cogliano and Patrick Thoresen scored for the Oilers, who've lost three straight.
