'Canes Fall In Overtime

Atlanta pulled out a 5-4 win at Carolina on Marian Hossa's power-play goal with 31.5 seconds remaining in overtime.

Ilya Kovalchuk set up the game-winner, giving him a goal and three assists in a much-needed win for the Thrashers. Slava Kozlov, Mark Recchi and Bobby Holik also scored for the Thrashers, who pulled within three points of the first-place Hurricanes in the Southeast Division.

Ray Whitney, Eric Staal and Erik Cole each had a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes.
