Canes Hold Off Bruins For 20th Win

Chad LaRose scored on a penalty shot and
Eric Staal netted the eventual game-winner as the Carolina
Hurricanes earned a 4-3 win over the visiting Boston Bruins.
LaRose's fifth goal of the season put the Hurricanes ahead 3-1
late in the second period. Staal made it 4-2 with a power-play goal
early in the third, just nine seconds before Phil Kessel got the
Bruins within a goal. Staal also assisted on Mike Commodore's
first-period goal.
Rod Brind'Amour provided the game's first goal and Cam Ward
handled 18 shots as the Hurricanes won for the fourth time in six
games.
The Bruins absorbed their fifth straight loss despite Marc
