Canes Top Flyers In Shootout

Rod Brind'Amour provided Carolina's third
and final shootout goal in a 6-5 win at Philadelphia.
Matt Cullen and Jeffrey Hamilton traded shootout goals with Mike
Richards and Joffrey Lupul before Brind'Amour won it
with a bank shot off the crossbar, ending the Hurricanes'
three-game slide.
The Hurricanes blew leads of 3-1, 4-3 and 5-4 before pulling out
the victory. Niclas Wallin had a goal and an assist for
Carolina.
Lupul completed his second hat trick in three games when he tied
the game 5-5 with a power-play goal midway through the third
period. But the Flyers dipped to 1-5-and-2 in eight home games
since starting the year 6-and-0 in Philadelphia.
