Appalachian State Sells Out National Championship Game

Asheville - There aren't any tickets left for Friday
night's championship game between Appalachian State and Delaware.
A weekend run on tickets that included Appalachian State sales
of more than 7,000 in seven hours created the sellout.
The Chattanooga Sports Committee announced the sellout after
Delaware sold its requested allotment of 3,000.
Appalachian State began selling tickets immediately after Friday
night's 55-35 win over Richmond in Boone. More than two hours after
the game, thousands of fans were still in a line that snaked around
the building that houses the ticket office.
By early Saturday morning, ASU students, season-ticket holders
and booster club members had purchased the school's entire
allotment of 7,725 tickets, which included 1,800 standing-room only
Attendance at last year's game, in which Appalachian State beat
Massachusetts, was 22,808. ASU officials estimated that more than
12,000 ASU fans attended that game.
