Ravens Players Fined For Abuse Of Officials

Complaining about the officiating in their Monday night loss to the Patriots means smaller paychecks for four Ravens players.

Bart Scott landed the biggest fine. He has to pay $25,000 for picking up a penalty flag and throwing it into the stands.

Cornerbacks Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle and receiver Derrick Mason were each fined $15,000 for their post-game remarks.

Rolle accused the head linesman of repeatedly calling him "boy" but an NFL official says that although they argued their verbal confrontation wasn't how Rolle described it.

Baltimore led the game 24-20 before New England marched downfield for the winning touchdown with 44 seconds left in a 27-24 final. The drive included costly penalties against the Ravens.

Ravens coach Brian Billick dismissed suggestions by some of his players that New England gets special treatment from game officials.
