Guillen, Gibbons Suspended By MLB

Major League Baseball has handed 15-day suspensions to Kansas City's Jose Guillen and Baltimore's Jay Gibbons for violating the sport's drug program.

The pair has been linked in media reports to the purchase of human growth hormone.

Gary Matthews Jr., Rick Ankiel, Troy Glaus and Scott Schoeneweis were also linked, but baseball decided there was "insufficient evidence" to determine they committed a doping violation.

Guillen and Gibbons will miss the first 15 days of the 2008 season.

Word of Guillen's suspension comes on the same day the outfielder finalized a three-year, 36 million-dollar contract with the Kansas City Royals.
