Panthers Finally Win At Home

The Carolina Panthers earned their first
home victory in over a year, beating the San Francisco 49ers 31-14.
Vinny Testaverde threw two touchdown passes
while becoming the oldest starting quarterback to win a game. The
44-year-old Testaverde hit Dante Rosario and Jeff King for short
touchdowns to help the 5-and-7 Panthers end a five-game losing
streak.
The Panthers went ahead 17-0 in the first half when Richard
Marshall returned an interception 67 yards for a TD. DeShaun Foster
scored on a one-yard run, and Testaverde threw for 153 yards and
two interceptions.
The Panthers sacked Trent Dilfer six times and had four
interceptions. Dilfer passed for 171 yards and two touchdowns for
the 3-and-9 Niners.
