Sixth-ranked Virginia Tech has won the
ACC championship by scoring a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns in
a 30-16 victory over Number-12 Boston College.
The game was tied at 16 until quarterbacks Tyrod Taylor and Sean
Glennon engineered an 84-yard touchdown drive. Taylor gained 31
yards on a quarterback draw, and Glennon fired a 24-yard TD pass to
Eddie Royal that put the Hokies on top with 7:12 remaining.
Glennon threw for three touchdowns, including a 13-yard scoring
strike to Josh Hyman that knotted the score 16-16 late in the third
Xavier Adibi iced the victory by returning a Matt Ryan
interception 40 yards for a touchdown with 11 seconds remaining.
Ryan passed for 305 yards but was picked off on each of the
Eagles' last two possessions.
The 11-and-2 Hokies head to the Orange Bowl after avenging their
14-10 loss to B.C. earlier this season.
The Eagles are 10-and-3 and likely will play in the Champs
Sports Bowl in Orlando.
