Oklahoma State Extends Its Football Coach

Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy received a one-year contract extension after leading the Cowboys to their second straight bowl game.

If approved by the school's board of regents next week, the extension would tie Gundy to the school through 2013.

The former Oklahoma State quarterback is 17-and-19 in three seasons at his alma mater.

The Cowboys were in contention for the Big 12 South title before
squandering a 21-point, fourth-quarter lead in a 38-35 loss to Texas.

They finished a 6-and-6 campaign with a 49-17 loss at Oklahoma last week to end up in a three-way tie for third place in the division, behind the Sooners and Longhorns.
