Nittany Lions Headed To Lone Star State For Bowl Game

Penn State is going back to the Alamo Bowl.

The 8-and-4 Nittany Lions accepted a bid to play against an as yet to be determined Big 12 representative in the December 29th game in San Antonio.

It will be coach Joe Paterno's record 34th bowl appearance. He's won 22 of them.

It also will be the 500th game of his coaching career. His overall record is 371-125-and-3.

Penn State's only other appearance in the Alamo Bowl in 1999 resulted in a 24-0 win over Texas A&M.
