Posada Officially Back On Board In New York

More than two weeks after reaching a preliminary agreement, Jorge Posada and the New York Yankees have finalized their 52.4 million-dollar, four-year deal.

The five-time All-Star catcher will turn 40 in the final season of the contract.

Posada will get 13.1 million dollars in each of the four seasons. That's the highest average salary ever for a catcher.

The switch-hitting Posada batted a team-high .338 last season with 20 homers and 90 RBIs.

The Yankees continue working to finalize agreements with third baseman Alex Rodriguez, closer Mariano Rivera and backup catcher
Jose Molina.
