It didn't take Houston Nutt long to find a new job. Hours after resigning as football coach at Arkansas, he's been hired to run the Gridiron Program at Mississippi.
Nutt agreed to a contract late Monday night. He replaces Ed Orgeron, who was fired Sunday after the Rebels lost to rival Mississippi State to finish a 3-and-9 season.
Nutt left his job with the Razorbacks just days after his team pulled off a 50-48, triple overtime victory over then, number-1 LSU.
The hiring of Nutt was confirmed by a person close to the program who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the announcement had not yet been made.
The school has planned an announcement on its coaching situation Tuesday.
