Pirates Roll Over Green Wave 35-12

The ECU Pirates whipped Tulane 35-12 on Senior Day to finish the season 7-5. Senior Chris Johnson rushed for a pair of touchdowns and scored another on a 4th quarter reception from Rob Kass that put the game away. ECU finishes with a 6-2 record in the Conference USA standings but will not represent the East Division in the C-USA Title game. Central Florida won the East with a 36-20 win over UTEP to earn a shot at Tulsa in next week's championship game. A trip to the Liberty Bowl will be on the line.

With the Liberty Bowl out of reach, the Pirates may be headed to either Mobile, Alabama for the GMAC Bowl or even to Hawaii. Bowl officials at the GMAC Bowl have the second choice in the league and they would prefer to take ECU if UCF beats Tulsa in the C-USA title game. New Orleans, Houston, and Birmingham are other possibilities.

One thing is clear, the Pirates are bowling for the second straight year.
