The game time for the third annual Conference USA Football Championship Game has been set, Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced today. The game will kickoff at Noon EST and will be televised live nationally by ESPN.
UCF is in control of its destiny to win the East Division outright and host the C-USA Championship game for the second time in three years. If the Knights defeat UTEP on Saturday, the brand-new Bright House Networks Stadium on the UCF campus will serve as the championship venue.
If the Knights lose to UTEP, East Carolina, Tulsa and Houston could all still host the championship game, depending on certain results on Saturday. UCF could also potentially host even with a loss.
Tulsa is in control of its destiny to win the West Division. If the Golden Hurricane defeat Rice on Saturday, they will make their second championship game appearance. If Tulsa, loses, then Houston will play in the championship game for the second year in a row.
Tulsa won the inaugural C-USA Championship Game in 2005, defeating UCF, 44-27 in front of a school-record crowd of 51,978. Last year, a stadium record crowd of 31,818 was on hand at Robertson Stadium to watch Houston defeat Southern Miss, 34-20.
Tickets for the Conference USA Football Championship game will go on sale once the site has been officially determined. Please check ConferenceUSA.com or the potential participating schools websites for more championship game details as they become available.
