Dolphins Have A Decision To Make About Williams

Ricky Williams has been reinstated by the NFL after serving more than 18 months of a suspension for repeatedly violating the league's substance-abuse policy. Now the question is, will he be welcomed back by the Dolphins?

The 2002 league rushing champion is scheduled to fly to South Florida for a physical tomorrow and a meeting with coach Cam Cameron, according to Williams' agent, Leigh Steinberg.

The first-year Miami coach says he talked with Williams by phone for "five or six minutes" today but hasn't made a decision about activating him.

The 0-and-9 Dolphins could use some help with top running back Ronnie Brown on injured reserve.

The return of Williams would be only part of backfield shakeup. Rookie quarterback John Beck has been promoted to the first team and will make his NFL debut Sunday at Philadelphia. He replaces Cleo Lemon.
