Jaguars quarterback David Garrard took another step on the comeback trail today when he practiced with the first-team offense. He's expected to play Sunday against San Diego after missing the last three games with a sprained left ankle. Jacksonville went 2-and-1 with Quinn Gray under center and are 6-and-3 overall.
Garrard ran without pain last week and probably could have played at Tennessee. But Jags coach Jack Del Rio decided to play it safe and hold him out one more week.
Garrard has completed 66 percent of his passes for 1,141 yards, with six touchdowns and no interceptions. His 102.9 passer rating ranks fourth in the NFL behind Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger and Tony Romo.
