Georgia Tech's Anthony Morrow and Virginia Tech's Jeff Allen have captured the first of the weekly basketball honors in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Morrow averaged 27 points and eight rebounds as Georgia Tech split two games. He made 20-of-37 shots from the floor, including 8-of-15 from 3-point range. Against Tennessee State, he scored 24 of his career-high 31 points in the second half of the 99-85 victory.
Allen was named rookie of the week for posting his first career double-double in Virginia Tech's 69-64 win over visiting Elon. He scored a game-high 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, had four steals, two blocks and two assists.
Allen is the first Virginia Tech freshman to record a double-double in his first collegiate game since 1978.
