Grady Little has resigned as the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He indicated that he had been in discussions with team management since the end of the season and the two sides had come to a mutual agreement that he would step down. Little indicated last season was a difficult one and he made his decision today.
Little denied that reports the Dodgers would hire Joe Torre as manager had anything to do with his decision.
General Manager Ned Coletti says he wanted Little to return but admitted the Dodgers had talked to other people to gauge their interest in the managing job.
