Delhomme Undergoes Reconstructive Elbow Surgery

Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme is expected to undergo seven to nine months of rehabilitation after having ligament-replacement surgery on his right elbow today.

The 90-minute surgery was performed by team physician Dr. Pat Connor, who said in a statement the procedure went well and Delhomme has an excellent prognosis.

Delhomme has experienced elbow pain for several years and aggravated the condition when he was sacked in a September 23rd
game at Atlanta.

Delhomme has said he's confident he'll be ready for the start of training camp in July.
