LEMONT, Ill. (AP) -- Tiger Woods is now a long shot to get to the FedEx Cup finale.

Needing to make a move up the leaderboard Friday in the BMW Championship, Woods again failed to break par at Cog Hill. He made a double bogey for the second straight day and had a 1-over 72, leaving him toward the bottom of the pack.

Woods was tied for 46th when he finished his second round, with half the 70-man field playing in the afternoon. He would need to finish somewhere around fifth to be among the top 30 players in FedEx Cup standings who qualify for the Tour Championship.
Woods is the defending champion and a five-time winner at Cog Hill. It was first time he opened with back-to-back rounds over par on this public course south of Chicago since 1994, when he was an 18-year-old amateur.
