Haas CNC Racing has hired Scott Riggs for a yet to be determined ride in 2008. The team says Riggs will replace either Jeff Green in the Number
66 or Johnny Sauter in the Number 70.
Riggs joined Evernham Motorsports last year in the Number 10
Dodge. And he's had a rough 2007 season, failing to qualify for six
of 29 races. After finishing 13th at the Kansas Speedway on Sunday,
he's 36th in the points race.
Riggs had been in a holding pattern since Evernham sold majority
ownership of his team to George Gillett Junior, because the team
also explored a possible merger with Petty Enterprises. If that
happened, the Number 10 would have gone away.
