Creswell Continues To Roll, Flattens Jamesville

The Creswelll Tigers moved to 7-1 on the season by blanking the former
conference powerhouse Jamesville Bullets 41-8 on the road Friday night. The Tigers have now firmly secured thier first conference title since 1983 when the Tigers made it to the eastern regional finals.

In a repeat from their first meeting of the season the Tigers rushing
attack would hit on all cylinders and amass 344 rushing yards on the
ground. Sophmore Timelle Sawyer would dig in behind the big offensive line of the Tigers and add 156yds on 12 carries. Sawyer would also add 2TD's on the night, both in the second half. Senior Ralphon Owens would pound out 85 yds on 5 carries for the Tigers and add 1 rushing TD on the night. The Tigers would go to the air on occasion to keep the Bullet defense guessing and open up the ground game. Quaterback Shivon Spear would light up the Bullet secondary and go 7-12 for 85 yds.

Defensively the Tigers would play a stellar game but the Bullets would
break the Tigers 3 game shutout streak by putting a TD on the board early in the first half. That score would be the only one for the Bullets as the Tigers would dig in and show who was on top of the Tideland. Tim Roughton would lead the Tigers with 11 tackles on the night with 2 going for a loss. Linebacker Andrew McNair would add 6 tackles for the Tigers and recover a fumble for a TD with :06 seconds to go before the half. That score would put the nail in the coffin for the Tigers and put the Tiger fans on their feet with a 22-8 lead at the half.

The Tigers will face the Columbia Wildcats in their final game of the
season next Friday at home on Senior night. With the win the Tigers will
go undefeated for the first time in the coference play in over 25 years.
