The Creswell Tigers claimed the Tideland Conference Title Friday night with a 54-0 trashing of the Cape Hatteras Hurricanes. The Tigers fresh off of a bye week came out with one thing on their minds, a repeat win over the Hurricanes.
The Tigers offense hit the ground running and never looked back. At the
intermission the Tigers fans would be on their feet cheering the home team and their commanding 32-0 lead. Timelle Sawyer would lead the Tigers ground attack with 177 yds on 16 carries and added 3TD's on the night. JaQuan Bryant added 130 yards on 10 carries and added 1TD. Overall the Tigers ground game pounded out 364 rushing yards on the Hatteras defense.
Leading the way for the stingy Tigers defense was sophmore Tommy Cherry. Cherry who totaled 13 tackles on the night, would add 3 for a loss. JaQuan Bryant would add 9 tackles, and senior Ralphon Owens would add his 6th interception of the season and 5th for a TD. With the win the Tigers totaled their 4th shutout of the season and their 3rd straight. The Tigers travel to Jamesville next Friday night as the conference season starts to wind down.
