Creswell - The Creswell Tigers tamed the Columbia Wildcats 55-0 in Tideland Conference action Friday night to improve to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference. The Tigers would amass 431 yards of total offense on the night with 328 of that coming on the ground.
Leading the way for the Tigers on the night was Senior play maker Ralphon Owens. Owens had a career night for the Tigers scoring 5 TD's and totaling 244 all purpose yards. Owens would grab 4 interceptions from his linebacker position to lead the Tiger defense returning 3 of those for TD's. Owens would also help the Tiger cause on the offensive side of the ball adding 2 more touchdowns on the night from his tight end position.
Creswell coach Wayne Rodgers said he was proud of his team for their
efforts. "We came out slow in the first quarter but the defense gave us
the boost we needed tonight. It was a great team effort tonight, I am
extremely proud of my team."
With the impressive win the Tigers have began to distance themselves from the rest of the pack in the Tideland Conference. If the Tigers can remain healthy could be a force to reckon with in the post season this year in the 1A ranks.
