boogyman, first off you are right. coach robinson was a great coach and i have alot of respect for him. the problem is not the players or the coaches as much as the parents and fans.just this past year i was at the little league all-star game and i happened to be watching williamstons 9&10 year olds play someone. i think they were up 14-0 after the first inning. all these parents could talk about was how this team shouldnt be allowed in the tournament and how bad they were.and on and on.and they were plenty loud about it to. to me that is poor sportsmanship and no class at all.

Well Plymouth Viking, it's like this. The main reason why the Redskins hate the Cowboys so much is cause of so many people in VA that are Cowboys fans, and vice versa. I'm sure Texas has some Redskins fans as well. ECU, N.C. State, Duke, and UNC are more like the Redskins/Cowboys. Fans will hate each other's teams/colleges but at the same time will like/love each other no matter what. As far as college sports, I am one of the very few neutral people around. I'll pull for all the in state teams, but mainly ECU cause my boy Pernell Griffin (Williamston Class of 1997) played his college football at ECU, and so did Kevin Roach(Class of 2002). As far as pro football, I as a Jets fan can't stand the Pats or Fins, but then again I will act nice to any Pats or Fins fan as I have friends who like both teams. I don't beleive in enemies, just rivalrys.

True. Perquimans games usually get out of hand due to lack of sportsmanship and crazy fans. The funny thing is the reason we hate Williamston is the same reason the redskins hate the cowboys. That is the one game every year that is unpredictable. Now, Perquimans is disappointing. Grown men acting like children. The High School kids don't even take the games that serious to the point of fighting about a HIGH SCHOOL basketball or football game.

Observer, you obviously don't know what you are talking about. Williamston always has had good sportsmanship. Don't come up here bashing our school when we had all these state championships in football and baseball. I was on that 1999 football team and coach Robinson, coach Gilmore, or coach Rogers would not tolerate any of of their players running their mouths, especially coach Robinson. Sounds like someone from either Bear Grass or Robersonville to me! As far as Plymouth/Southside, I did'nt realize you 2 schools had issues. We had issues with Plymouth when I was in high school, but that's changed a little bit. Riverside's/Williamston's latest problems have been with Perquimans County. Those people are as classless as you can get. Both fans and players!

This should be a very interesting year for riverside.putting williamston and jamesville together.jamesville has always had a great sports program from little league on up.Now you put them with williamston.who is either crying because they lost or obnoxious because they won. Maybe jamesville can teach them a little about sportsmanship but i doubt it. they have been this way even when i played 25 years ago. And no i am not from jamesville.

Like I was saying Plymouth fans are very disrespectful. Last year in Plymouth there were Plymouth fans in the Southside bleachers taunting the Southside fans the whole game. They kept shouting turn out the lights,,, somebody start thier bus cause it is over... Needless when the game was over,,,,, they were no where to be found.

For the third time this season Plymouth players were at the Riverside game tonight runnng there mouths and starting trouble. Some of them were asked to leave by officers for the third time this year.

I respect all schools. And I must say let the best team win.

To pirate/hawk, I'm not sure what you mean by the little people but my cousin and his teammates have only on thing on their mind and that's what they are working for. That is the goal. If that goal does not get reached, then it would be a failure for them. That's what the coach was telling these boys on the first day of practice. I'm sure Plymouth and Southside both have that vary same goal as well, which would not surprise me. Coach Kellum is one dag gone great coach. My senior year was the first ever year for Southside High School, the 1999 season. I know Southside was not all there that year, but they sure did progress and Coach Kellum took them to the championship 2 years. He is a proven winner.

I love all of you who care so much about the AP polls after 5 weeks, let alone at all. Polls have nothing to do with playoff seeding, so there's really nothing to fuss about. And to the guys who keep crying about Southside, please stop and think for a minute. If all you care about is rankings, then here's something to look at. You played 4 1-A teams who are a combined 6-12. Really? Brag that up. The teams ranked above you have played good schools in higher classes. Mt. Airy lost to 2 undefeated 2A schools...so don't get too excited about the polls. Run the table in your conference, and then we'll talk.
