ECU head football coach Ruffin McNeill and two of his staff members took the ALS Ice Bucket challenge Friday in part to honor retired Marine Major Randy Heberet who's had the disease since 1995.
Hebert made an appearance at the Pirates' practice Friday afternoon in Greenville.
McNeill was doused with water along with ECU strength and conditioning coach Jeff Connors and director of football operations Brian Overton.
Hebert, who served in the military in the Gulf War, was escorted by his wife who said of her husband, "I think the Marine in him helps him with this disease because he's not going to give up."
