#6 Wake Forest Slams East Carolina,

GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Al-Farouq Aminu had 21 points and 12
rebounds, and No. 6 Wake Forest blew open a close game after
halftime to beat East Carolina 95-54 on Monday night.

Chas McFarland had 14 points for the Demon Deacons (11-0), who
are off to their best start since winning the first 11 games of
2003-04. Wake Forest led by four points at halftime before roaring
out of the break with a big run that silenced the rowdy home crowd
dreaming of an upset.

The Demon Deacons opened the second half with a 15-3 run that
pushed the margin to double digits, then spent the rest of the game
steadily increasing the lead while putting on a show of the
fullcourt athleticism that has made them among the favorites in the
Atlantic Coast Conference.

Darrius Morrow had 15 points for the Pirates (8-3), who were
outscored 54-17 after halftime.

DF and (I am going away forever if ECU wins CUSA crown in football)Dave, I was at the game. The first half was an awesome sight, the boys hung right in there but I think WFU just had too many tools to work with because we got a "schooling" in the 2nd half. I was asking myself, after the wonderful first half performance by the pirates, "why are these guys ranked #6?" I was shown why they are ranked there in the 2nd half. Not that it would have changed the outcome at all, but the officiating was horrible and I mean absolutely deplorable. More against ECU (fouls) but bad at both ends of the court. The group of Bozos called this game need to be re-evaluated, it was terrible.

Hey, there is nothing bad that can come from get you butt whipped by a top 10 team. ECU will only get better by playing better teams. When time comes for conference play, ECU will be better because of it. With three ACC teams on the schedule, it may even help recruiting.

I agree deadfish. I also think that all of the ECU sports programs need to drop to Division II.

Dave: Ohio St. got only three points off USC. ECU needs more than a prayer to get that many!

deadfish what WF did against ECU in basketball is exactly what would happen if the ECU football team played the likes of Florida, USC, Oklahoma, Texas, and so on and so on...

T: WF 95 ECU 54= a flattened posterior, period. There isn't a "may have lost" in that sentence. A second grader can read that! The sentence should have had delusional in the middle, right? BTW the Pirates FB fans say the same. Did I mean delusional again?>>>OUCH! A deacon forced a Pirate to pray! Forty one points would humble anybody to: P R A Y! Don't you love it?

ECU basketball - the ultimate oxymoron. I'm glad the Deacon fans could help fill the soda shop. Good for the local economy.

They may have lost to Wake Forest but they must treat this as a stepping stone to being better and growing stronger. They have to keep their head up and keep playing hard. Go Pirates!!!

NOT ready for the round ball big boys and of course NOT ready for the smaller one called CFB. I expect a certain person, should I say a loud spoken ECU fan whose diatribes are well known on this blog, HELLO? Is anyone jealous? I have posted on the CFB thread that watch out for Duke. They are way ahead of ECU according to of course Rivals.com. It would be nice to see Duke VS ECU FB guys, OK? ECU does NOT have a prayer if the play with the round ball! Stay tuned! PS: Sam: Did you serve in the US Military; if so what branch? I am just wondering!
