Pirates Lose Third Straight Game

ECU is handed their third straight loss. They matched up against Virginia on the Road. ECU started off on the right foot early. The defense had two interceptions in the first quarter, but the Pirates only got two field goals off the turnovers.

The Cavaliers broke it wide open in the second quarter. Virginia scored 28 unanswered points in the first half. The Cavs rushing game was unstoppable. Cedric Peerman ran for 173 yards and two touchdowns in the game. The Cavaliers led the Pirates 28-6 at halftime.

ECU scored on the opening drive of the second half. They eventually made it 28-20. But a fake field goal for a touchdown by the Cavs helped seal the deal for Virginia. They beat the Pirates 35-20.

Patrick Pinkney completed 12 of 28 passes for 196 yards. Jonathan Williams had 19 carries for 95 yards in the loss.

Mort: Congratulations your Pirates finally won one sans ANY sarcasm. Lady Pirate congratulations as well. WHY not congratulate Dave as well his PSU team also won. His PSU team time is coming though. Dave think of this three letters: OSU. Back to Mort CJ is a good player. I saw an NFL clip that changed my opinion about him. He was show boating after scoring a TD and doing a poor Prime Time imitation. He needs to earn his stripes before he start doing any of that Michael Jackson stuff, pathetic... Mr. Mort Sir do you agree with me about pushing Mr. Holtz to do a better recruiting job? I have to quit. I am going to watch TX VS MO. Take care Pirate fans!

It is bad when Pirate fans have absolutely no idea what team they are going to see on Sat....ECU Sports have never had that one game-breaker athlete, what is their identity. Don't give me the Chris Johnson speech, he basically had 5 good games as a senior, and yes, the team did rally behind him. Who are the Pirates going to rally behind now, Skip town Holtz? Can you say 4 in a row.....

Good catch deadfish. I guess I need to type slower. However, we are living in Eastern North Carolina and I'M VERY CERTAIN that most of the locals would have NEVER noticed.

Dave: Then he is not a true ECU fan. The adverb I used in the sentence is correct. The preposition than in your sentence is definitely incorrect. Please let's keep in step with the proper English grammar, Sir. Thank you

If that's all it takes to get Barry out of here, than he is NOT a true ECU fan. Perhaps he will be back after the Memphis loss.

ALL: I have some interesting numbers to share with you hoping it will arouse your curiosity! Here we go: Last year USC football nearly made $8 Mil. Had a total revenue of $28,595,881. Expenses of $20,963,700. Recruiting expenses of $8,712,687. Would any of you provide the same ECU numbers to find out how much money ECU spends on recruiting? I'm curious! I am NOT comparing ECU to USC, OK? Thank you

So, Dave, your "witty" comeback is an old, recycled & hackneyed "funny"? You do understand irony? LOL. Best of luck in PA.- and god-speed. Dave and deadfish, I'll now depart this dying thread and desert your dyad. The dynamic duo, Dad and Dave, one is former devil-dog, the other impudent dolt. Been fun boys!

I think that Barry's problem is that he listens to his friend Jim too much.

Barry you wouldn't know wit if it came up to you, introduced itself as "wit" and shook your hand.

deadfish: your lawyering skills (again, on Dave's behalf) need work. 1. You certainly made assumptions- see your own post below. 2. No need to "apologize" as there is nothing wrong with "the farmer label", it was simply erroneous in my case (again, your own assumption) 3. As far as "the psychological traps", this is a blog, remember? The very purpose of such is to engage in discourse. Hence, my retort to you here. 4. Why encourage WITN establishment of an "open thread" if you, on the other hand, discourage discourse, i.e. "stop falling for...". You are contradicting your own self, my man. 5. You write that "Dave is a big boy and can handle you without my help". You continue to engage in inconsistency here. If not, why the continued response referencing him? 6. Let me end "this with a little humor": "one two three, it's easy like taking candy from a baby". (ps: Dave, best wishes. I think PSU might be for real. But, your daddy is really tiresome!).
