GREENVILLE, N.C. – Due to the forecast of widespread inclement weather in the area, East Carolina softball’s home doubleheader against UTEP Saturday has been moved up to a 10:00 a.m. start.
After 19-straight contests away from Greenville, the Pirates (10-17, 0-3 C-USA) return home this weekend for three games against the Miners (12-18, 2-4 C-USA). ECU owns a 15-4 advantage in the all-time series with UTEP that began in 2006 when the Miners joined Conference USA. The Pirates have swept the last three, and four of the six, series from the Miners. East Carolina is 7-2 against UTEP in Greenville with three shutouts.
The upcoming three games will feature the top two offensive players in conference games as East Carolina senior Suzanne Riggs is batting .667 and UTEP senior Camilla Carrera is hitting .600. The pair also stands first and second in slugging percentage in C-USA contests with Riggs holding a slim 1.444-1.400 advantage.
