GREENVILLE, N.C. --- East Carolina redshirt junior DaQuan Joyner will be out indefinitely with a stress fracture in his left foot, head coach Jeff Lebo announced Wednesday.
Joyner missed the final 25 games of his sophomore year with the same injury. He played in the first five games of the 2008-09 season before being sidelined. He was granted a medical hardship at the conclusion of the year and played as a redshirt sophomore in 2009-10.
“I’m really disappointed for DaQuan,” Lebo said. “It’s the second time this has happened to him and he’s very frustrated. He had been practicing well and I was looking forward to watching him develop over the course of the entire season. We will certainly miss his presence on the floor.”
He played in all 31 games last season, averaging 19.3 minutes per game, the most of any player without a start. Joyner also averaged four points and four rebounds a year ago.
