GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina's 2012 regular season finale against Marshall, originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 24 at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, has been moved up one day to accommodate a live broadcast by an unspecified Conference USA television partner according to an announcement from the league Thursday.
C-USA also has designated the Pirates' road contest at UCF in Orlando for airing on Thursday Oct. 4, two days earlier than originally scheduled.
While official kickoff times have not been established, ECU has requested an early afternoon start for the Nov. 23 game in an effort to continue its cooperative working relationship with the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's (NCHSAA) playoff schedule during the Thanksgiving Weekend.
The meeting with Marshall will mark the third time in the last five years that the Pirates closed the regular season at home on a Friday, following the UTEP and SMU contests in 2008 and 2010, respectively.
The remainder of ECU's complete 2012 television schedule, including regional and local coverage, will be released along with kickoff times at a later date when finalized.
